Illegally and miraculously I sneaked over the border of former communist Romania and after about two months arrived in Vienna, Austria. The year was 1980, and in April 1981 under a political asylum status I arrived in Portland, OR., USA. By God’s divine intervention I was guided to get out immediately from Romania. He knew better why I was asked to do it. Until then I made choices over and over not to leave my country.
Then in May 1984 again by divine guidance I ended up at Christ for the Nations International, (CFNI) in Dallas, TX.. I graduating in May 1986, and in the same year I became a United States citizen and by the Lord’s mighty hand I was given a two months visa to re-enter Romania where I ended up just before the Christmas.
Then in March 1987 I married my wife Viorica while on my new underground mission, working with the underground church in Romania. That June we return to Dallas. The next year we moved to Gussing, Austria, a small town by the border of Hungary, where we rented a house. We began working with Mission Possible, Oasis International and We Go ministries. We smuggled Bibles into Romania working with the underground church and evangelism missionary Bible studies. Our purpose was to send out more trained underground missionaries for the new church planting all over Romania.

After the Communism overthrow in December 1989, we moved from Austria to make our home and office in Timisoara, Romania. The first Bible school planted was in 1991 in the northern city of Suceava by the border of Ukraine. This was a good start with about 100 students. The fall of 1992 we opened the second Bible School in western Romania, in the city of Timisoara with a wonderful start of about 170 students.
The next years on what was the initial vision of CCFR, we expanded with Bible Schools by extension all over the country of Romania. The first extended school was in the central area of Romania in the city of Medias. Then in the mountain miners region, city of Petrosani.
Our strong Day Bible School of Suceava had extended their Bible training hands to the Moldavian cities of Botosani, Iasi, and Bistrita.
Then in 1999, a new Day Bible School was founded in the large city of Cluj, Transylvania.
In the early 2000 another two Bible Schools by extension came into being, one in the city of Constanta just east of the Black Sea, and the second in Motru, Oltenia in the south by the Danube river.
Because of this ever growing national expansion the Lord directed me to start appointing well trained Directors to each of these Bible schools and other existing ministries. I set up the autonomy for all of CCFR ministries so each of them could grow, expand and increase freely.
In doing this I resigned little by little and gave up my national position as legal national president of the ministry and became the equal founding father to all to guide and advise, as a national overseer. Like a family. I do believe we should raise up and train children well, and let them fly freely into God’s infinite space of life ministry, but still under CCFR umbrella. In this way the Headquarters in Timisoara where I was living would not become like a dictating denomination or power controlling station where all decisions were made or be the focus of the main attention to meet all its development projects and needs in the determinant of others.
